and other non-VW diesels?
It’d be nice if GM finally sold the Curze wagon and hatchback over here, along with manual tranmsission and lower-trim level diesel.

I doubt that it does as long as more manufacturers aren’t caught up in it. It’s not so much a diesel scandal as a VW scandal.

It shouldn’t, but it probably will. A big scandal like this will taint diesel as a whole.

That’d be awesome! I’d love to see Honda and Toyota diesels sold over here! Honda could probably do the best job at it, and might almost if not quite remove most of the bad reputation it has now.

Yes. J.Q. Public is not smart, nor do they care about important distinctions. Since VW and diesel are bad,
ALL
diesels are bad.
J.Q.P. hates driving. Ignoring that driving does not always equal commuting, why should JQP have to know anything about their vehicle other than how to start it and nearly avoid other vehicles while they text and email and dress on their way to and from work?
Having to care about their car is too much effort. JQP just wants a box that takes them to their dismal job and to the dismal store and back to their dismal home. Knowing that a VW is not a Chevy does not excite JQP.
That would require learning something. JQP just wants the nice talking-head on the TV to tell them how to think.

Nah Lucas have been gone near 20 years now. the nearest dealer t my house is a honda dealer, I don’t see new Honda’s anywhere, at all. plenty of Renault, VW, Skoda, Dacia, Ford, Mazda etc.
